Junes Classic bikes, classic views, classic city ride

The weather was good and we had a number of new riders turn up for our June ride and yes that's right, it was a 79.3km ride...a classic City ride enjoying some bike culture, food and great B.o.B community.

Seems we are starting to build a triumph and Harley club :)

the engineers told me it wouldn't be stable enough...they were right
Set up a new camera angle on the bike then off we headed for some city riding to West-End looking for a coffee and a bit of Bike culture at Ellespede...can't get over the development happening at Westend...high rise emerging everywhere.

then off to Mt Cootha for some classic views but first had to battle more cars, stop lights and Saturday morning congestion but the run up the mountain was great with some Mamil (middle ages men in lycra) surprises along the way before we piled into the parking spot...some even found some special bike racks :)
...hmm , did he lose a wheel somewhere?
so these are bikes...and this is a bike rack ..right?

Some food and community then time to roll down the hill and off to Indian-Victory in the Valley .... beautiful bikes but we did enjoy the free coffee and BBQ.
I think Des has seen something he likes...
enjoying Indian - Victory hospitality

what is this.....

Leo - "do you think the wife would be happy with three bikes ??"
Now it must be time for lunch ....around to the Powerhouse...on the river for some final B.o.B community after an awesome ride.

it was an end to a fabulous classic city ride...classic views...classic bikes (a bit pricey for our blood) but the B.o.B community was priceless.

Ride for Literacy

It was a great opportunity for another ride and a great cause to support so around 11 Band of bikers joined with other groups to see around 30 bikes make their way to Toowoomba and a great reception at the Sth TWB baptist for lunch.
The riders consolidated at Kallangur Macca's then meandered through Dayboro , up and over Mt Mee...to Esk for Morning tea then up the magic Esk-Hampton Rd to Toowomba.

So with everyone assembled , a coffee in our belly, route instructions instructions and a prayer offered up we headed off through Petrie and Dayboro to the twisties of Mt Mee.
all lined up leaning into the wind

running along D'guidar Highway

the road flattens out as we head for Esk

then to Esk for much anticipated morning tea & community at the delightful rectory.
B.o.B enjoying the community at the Rectory
Bikers leaving for Toowomba

It was then a few went back to Brisbane whilst the rest of us enjoyed the climb up to Toowoomba on the wonderful Esk-Hampton Road.
leaning into a corner on the Esk-Hamton Rd
We made Toowomba with the wind rising and the temperature falling making riding a little challenging ...but we were greeted with a wonderfully warm welcome and scrumptious food at the South Toowoomba Baptist  ....oh yes and the Toowoomba Mini club and some classic bikes joined us to make it a great day for a great cause.
lots of great sights, bikes & Characters at the ride for literacy
You know there were all sorts of bikers on the ride and some actually say that they look like their dogs but a biker who is a dog??
