Headin Sth Roadtrip - day 2 Twisty-a-thon

Day 2 began with a quick run down to Walcha for breakfast the mandatory pic in front of the intersection of 2 awesome riding roads in the state, Thunderbolt Way and the Oxley Highway.
With Bellies full it was then onto the bikes for a great ride down the Oxley Highway punctuated with a stop at Gingers creek for a break (from the million curves) and a coffee.
Gingers Creek...sorry about the Car
a beautiful bike lurking under the tree

As we sat sipping our coffee all sorts of bikes rolled into the cafe, a real melting pot of bikers and bikes. So off we headed for more corners (you know how us cruiser riders luv corners :) we stopped at a vantage point a little further on to watch bikes scream down the mountain, some even kept repeating the same curve ... yea, even one of our crew had a go ... way to go Steve...and thx Des for the pics

That was a whole lot of fun, even for us slower cruisers, its great to get into a Rhythm and the Oxley has some fantastic high speed sweeping curves that Des and I thoroughly enjoyed enjoy at the end of the Oxley....a whole lot of fun for some crusty bikers.

so we all manage to make it through with no slip ups or encounters with the boys in blue, though there were a few out and about.

We could not expect to always stay on these marvellous roads and so after a scrumptious lunch in Wauchope (thanks again Leigh for picking out these places) we faced our demons, the pacific highway with some roadworks thrown in ...up towards coffs harbour and the turn off to Bellingen  and the Marvellous Waterfall Way.....and another unspeakable beautiful road up the hill to Dorrigo.

Richard , Megan and Drew enjoying the break on the Oxley and watching Steve trying yo scrape the corners

now entering paradise...so green, so beautiful
What a beautiful part of the world and so amazing run up to Dorigo, we stopped halfway up to admire the views and encountered the mystery of the Rooster on Waterfall Way!!

what could be the story with the rooster....how did it get halfway up waterfall way...but seemed to be scratching out a living.

Dave was obviously contemplating some finger lickin rooster for dinner....but alas no cooking utensils...so it was off to Dorrigo for the night...and more fun and frivolity.

So all the bikes tucked away for the night we had a wander around the town then off for dinner at the hotel...hmm another Chicken Palmasharna , oh that that road trip waistline.

time for a chat before dinner as the day draws to an end
